NASC :: Netherlands Association for Senior Care

The Netherlands Association for Senior Care is one of two organizations forming the Haro Park Centre Society.

In 1972, the Association (NASC) hosted a meeting to discuss the possibility of a multi-purpose facility to serve the needs of the substantial elderly population in the West End of Vancouver.

Together with the Lions Gate B’nai B’rith Building Society, the Haro Park Centre Society was established and planning was started on the Haro Street property owned by B’nai B’rith.

After years of planning, the goal was achieved, Haro Park Centre was opened in 1980 as a multi-care complex to serve the growing number of seniors in the community.

This non-profit facility provides a nurturing home environment for people who can no longer live without assistance.

Haro Park Centre provides various stages of care:

  • Independent Living

  • Assisted Living

  • Full Care

  • Special Care

The Netherlands Society adds a Dutch flavour with Tulips on Mother’s Day and with visits from Sinterklaas in December.

Members of B’nai B’rith and NASC serve together on the Board of Haro Park Centre.

The NASC group meet informally about four times per year.
