We also have regularly scheduled:
Movie Night
We also have a regular “movie night” where recent releases and movie classics are equally popular. Our residents also enjoy our new big screen TV. We have many avid sports fans that flock to the lounge to watch the games. Hockey playoffs are a particularly noisy and fun-filled time.
Art Therapy
Haro park provides art therapy and studio space for our elderly artists and holds community exhibits. The art therapy is supported by Haro Park Foundation and our volunteers
| Pastoral Care Services
Haro Park's Pastoral Care
which is an integral support to many of our seniors in meeting spiritual needs. Volunteer chaplains visit new residents, offering friendship and support during what can be a time of challenging adjustment. Our chaplains also visit elders that have been admitted to hospital. Haro Park developed a network of visiting Ministers with the seven Protestant churches in the west end. On a rotating basis, each of the churches provides Sunday afternoon services at our Chapel. We also have Catholic Mass every Saturday morning. We have an active Fellowship Bible Study Group; our volunteer chaplains lead hymn singing, bible study and discussion. Additional Services and Groups
We have lots of other groups, including knitting.
Gardening Therapy
Haro Park also has a Special Care Unit that has its own roof garden where residents can garden and plant flowers.
Many of these programs are supported by our donors gifts to Haro Park. We invite you explore how you can Donate and Volunteer at Haro Park and how you can get involved with your community. |
